In order to maintain the violin for a long time, besides keeping the humidity stable is the first basic condition, other daily violin maintenance is also very important.

Material of violin:

Violin is composed of more than 70 pieces of wood, making the violin after cutting, wood need natural dry years to dozens of years, the longer the term of a natural wood drying, tone is better, but the wood itself with water, the humidity of each country is different, so the production of wood imported from abroad, all want to hold a 5 ~ 8 years, after confirm the moisture of wood is stable, can begin making violins.

Because the violin is made of wood, the violin itself is most afraid of dampness. Please keep proper humidity (60%~40%), not only in a dry place, but also dehumidification frequently. If it is often used, it is not recommended to place it in a moisture-proof box.

When traveling to cold countries, place a humidifying stick in the case to avoid excessive drying and cracking.

Be sure to wipe the sweat and rosin with a dry gauze towel after playing every time. Do not wipe the violin with a cloth stained with water or alcohol. It is not recommended to wipe the violin with a chemical agent such as commercially available violin oil.

The bridge should be kept at a 90-degree angle with the piano surface. If there is any deviation, please ask the violin teacher or professional technician for assistance.

It is best to keep the string in the playing tension. If the string is not used for a long time, it can be loosened (reduce the fifth degree sound). It is not recommended to completely relax the string, which may cause the column displacement or collapse.

If there is a change in the tone of the violin or noise, the common reasons are degumming, fine-tuning fixed place is not tightened, the chin to touch the chord board, cracks, loose fingerboard, string groove is not deep enough...and so on. You can ask a professional master to adjust the tone.

A bow is a fragile object that cannot withstand accidental falls or collisions.

The bow tip is the most vulnerable part of the bow. It is not allowed to hit the music stand or touch the ground with the bow tip as a crutch.

Bow hair is very sensitive to humidity, and can be relaxed or shortened according to the change of humidity. When not in use, please put the bow hair in the piano box or bow box. Bow hair must be relaxed to avoid fatigue of bow hair elasticity and bending deformation of bow itself.
